Patrick O'Hern Hedge Fund Analyst
In 2004, Patrick began his career as a Trading Assistant for a Market Maker in the Livestock Sector of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where his responsibilities included account reconciliation, trade tracking, and technical analysis. After working as an Assistant Patrick became a Member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 2005 by leasing a seat that enabled him to trade independently in the Live Cattle, Feeder Cattle, Lean Hogs, and Dairy open outcry pits. During Patricks time on the floor of the CME he was able to gain comprehensive knowledge of the commodities landscape by constantly reviewing technical and fundamental factors that affected short and long term market direction. In 2006, Patrick joined Commodity and Ingredient Hedging, LLC as an Account Executive, a leading Agriculture Risk Management and Consulting Firm, where he worked on the development and implementation of supplemental tools used in the creation of their new Dairy Risk Management Product. Patrick joined FourWinds in 2008 as a Commodities Analyst. He graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Business. His undergraduate focus was directed towards Agriculture Economics and a minor in Management. He is registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Series 3 Licensed, and an NFA associate member. Patrick grew up on a beef cattle and grain farm in Illinois and continues to maintain an interest in its on-farm activities. |
